Batchworth Park starts with trouble down the right of the 1st but with the 2nd fairway running alongside you do have a bail out area. Next comes a straight forward short par 4 with a good chance for a birdie, then it's on to the rolling fairway of the 3rd, a good accurate drive is needed here if you are going to reach the green with your next shot.

Dawlish Warren Golf Club - Devon
Dwalish is a great 'Sea Turf' course where you have to be accurate from the tee or you are going to lose balls. The greens on this course are superb, putts just seemed to roll smoothly on forever, the rolling, undulating fairways were also great to stroll down, they looked untouched by man, with a nice spongy 'Sea Turf' feel, apart from the seventh which was completely flat and looked a little out of place.
The few members I bumped into were very friendly and so were the staff in the clubhouse, I highly recommend you play Dawlish if you visit this part of the coast.

Billingbear Park Golf Club - Wokingham, Berkshire
Billingbear Park was rebuilt in the late eighties as a result of being farmed during the two world wars. It is now quite a reasonable nine hole course with a small cosy clubhouse. I wouldn't say the course presentation was championship standard but the green staff do keep it in very good condition for a small club.
It is hard to pick a favourite as none of the holes really stand out but the dogleg eighth with a ditch running across the fairway and a lake up near the green is probably the best hole here.

Boxmoor Golf Club - Hertfordshire
A very friendly little club this, so much so that I forgot to ask about the facilities so if a member happens to read this could they let me know if I got anything wrong. The course starts with a tough par 3 where the green is hidden behind a mound that slopes left to right in front of the green. The second hole is pretty straight forward with just the left to right sloping fairway to negotiate, then comes 'Cardiac Hill' as the members call it, 183 yards in length although it seems like most of that yardage is up.

Chartridge Park Golf Club - Buckinghamshire
Chartridge Park is a well laid out course, it is hilly in parts but walking is not too hard, set in the Chiltern hills the course has some great views, lots of trees but not much water.
